History of GSC

Founded in 1947 by Curtis McKenzie, Kenneth McKenzie, and Woodrow Brittain, the company prospered under their leadership. “There were at least 50 or so other grocery warehouses within a 100-mile radius of us,” remembered Kenneth McKenzie.
Today, GSC Enterprises, Inc. operates two primary business segments: Grocery Supply Company (c-store distribution) and Fidelity Express (alternative financial services).

With three recent acquisitions, Grocery Supply Company now has over 1 million square feet of space with more than 10,000 items in inventory. Whether you’re a single store operator or a large regional chain, our extensive product line of dry, refrigerated, and frozen items will surely meet your needs. GSC primarily serves convenience stores throughout Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Florida, Kansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, South Carolina, and Texas.

Fidelity Express is a premier leader in the walk-in bill payment and money order space. With thousands of neighborhood stores across 19 states, Fidelity Express processes millions of payments annually for the cash-paying consumer. Fidelity Express prides itself on being the most flexible and responsive provider in the industry. Since its inception, the company has always taken to heart its mantra of “Real Time, Real People, Real Service.”

GSC remains a family owned and operated business, with Michael K. McKenzie (second generation) serving as Chairman of the Board and Ryan McKenzie (third generation) serving as Chief Operating Officer. The McKenzie family is not only devoted to its employees and customers, but also, its community. A desire to serve all stakeholders is at the heart of GSC’s core values.

“Impacting Lives Through Exceptional Service is our company’s main purpose, and whether you are working with Grocery Supply Company or Fidelity Express, you can expect this level of service.” —Ryan McKenzie President and CEO.
