GSC North Goes Live with Scan Selection
Last week the SSPOD project team achieved a huge milestone. GSC North went live with Scan Selection!
Implementing a new system is always a big challenge. This was no different. Here’s the play by play on how the week went.
Last Monday (3/17), the team decided to execute one final day of “Dry Run” testing. This involves using the real route/order data for the day to conduct selection activities but do it in the development environment. So, you’re using real data, but not using the system for reals. That means you have folks actually doing the work, and folks who are just testing the system out. Dry Run testing is one of the last tests you do to ensure everything is ready to go for use in the production environment.
Tuesday (3/18), the GSC North and SSPOD Project teams decided to start the ramp up by doing a single route with scan selection and the remaining routes using the old fashion label-based selection method. The day went well, although there seemed to be some issues with the voice recognition system understanding some of the commands.
