Overview of Fidelity Express
Fidelity Express was founded in 1988 as an independent money order company to fill the service void left by the major financial service providers. These large money order companies shunned the smaller, often rural, independent merchants who usually own single convenience stores and/or small grocery store chains. In the last 20+ years we have grown to serve over 5,500 of these merchants across 19 states and the District of Columbia. In addition, we are licensed as money transmitters in all of the states in which we do business and must meet all state and federal requirements.
We currently process annually over 12 million bill payments and 15 million money orders. Fidelity's 50+ employees are located in our headquarters in Sulphur Springs, Texas. In addition, we have 14 sales and technical service offices located in eight states throughout our footprint.
As our money order business grew, our agents began requesting a walk-in bill payment service. To meet their needs, we entered the walk-in bill payment market by enhancing our money order terminal and developing a streamlined back-office process to move the data and funds to billers quickly and error free. We launched FIDELITY XPressPay in August, 2000, with our first client, TXU Energy – the largest electric and gas utility in Texas. We are now authorized by almost 100 diverse companies.
In an effort to become a complete financial services consultant for our merchants/agents, we registered as an Independent Sales Organization with NPC, a Vantiv company located in Louisville, Kentucky, to be able to provide competitive rates for credit/debit processing.
Through our association with the Grocery Supply Company, we understand the grocery industry and are more attuned to the need of convenient stores to offer their customers convenient, time-saving financial services that helps to increase foot traffic and profits.
