Basic Food Flavors, Inc.
has issued a Class I recall on dry powder and paste HVP (hydrolyzed vegetable proteins).  A production lot has
tested positive for Salmonella.  Consumption of products containing Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in
young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.  Healthy persons infected often experience fever,
diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. Download Specific Information.

Urgent Recall: June 22, 2009, We have been advised by Matrixx Initiatives, Inc., the manufacturer of Zicam, that the use of some
of their product has been alleged to cause a temporary or permanent loss of smell, known as Anosmia.

For this reason, the company is voluntarily withdrawing Zicam Cold Remedy Swabs and Zicam Cold Remedy Gel from the market.
